South Side to lose yet another retail fixture: Stutz Pharmacy

Stutz Pharmacy, an independent drugstore in operation for more than 60 years in the South Side, will close for good at the end of business on Wednesday.

Owner Stephen Stutz sold the business — mostly his inventory and customer list — to Rite Aid Corp. It will fill customers’ prescriptions from the chain’s store about five blocks away on Jane Street, starting on Thursday.
